Silvia Dumanova
Biography
Silvia Dumanova is a Bulgarian artist whose work encompasses expressive painting and original, handmade, hand-painted ceramic jewelry.
About her path and teachers
Silvia started drawing at the age of 8 at Lilyana Kareva’s fine arts school. Two years later, she won an international children’s drawing competition in Tokyo. This marked the beginning of her path towards realizing a pure childhood dream. She continued to develop her talent and gain new experience in the drawing classes of Prof. Kiril Boychev and Suzi Aronova. In 1989, she graduated from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. In 1993, she joined the “Bestiary” group of young artists, founded by Deya Simeonova. That same year, her passion for ceramics led her to meet the famous Bulgarian applied artist Sonya Dzhongolska. In her studio, Silvia acquired invaluable experience and skills. Today, Silvia mostly paints with oil on canvas, creating vibrant, emotional paintings, and works on her new ideas for hand-painted jewelry.
